Channeling June Cleaver

Ok please hit me with all the Leave it to Beaver jokes.
Here's a new recipe that I think was yummy.
It's made with Quinoa (keen-wah) the super food.

Quinoa Salad with hearts of palm

1 cup quinoa (cooked per package directions)(don’t forget to rinse before cooking and salt the water in the pan)
1 can hearts of palm (rinsed and sliced in thinly into rounds)
1/4 cup crumbled feta

1/4 cup red onion finely chopped (soak in water for 5 minutes, then drain)
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/3 cup light olive oil
1/4 cup dried parsley leaves
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 lime squeezed

After cooking the quinoa, make sure it’s well drained using a fine mesh sieve. Put in a bowl and fluff with a fork. Let cool to room temp. To cool faster put in frig. In a small bowl mix the last 6 ingredients making a dressing of sorts.
After quinoa has cooled, pour the dressing over it and mix well. Then add the hearts of palm and crumbled feta and mix them in.
I put the salad on a pretty plate and garnished with thin sliced cucumber.

Very yummy and healthy.

Hello June Cleaver? I'd rather Leave it to Beaver, June. Yours. :)

Sounds delish although I have no clue what farts of Palm taste like or even what they are, where they came from.

Luv- Thanks. Sure I'll make you a salad.

C-Thanks and that's the joke I wanted to hear :)

Bob-You want to leave it to my beaver? :)LoL
Hearts of Palm are hearts of a palm. They are white cylinder shaped things that taste kind of like a artichoke heart. You cut them into skinny rounds to eat. I think you need to try this dish. You could add garbanzos or white or black beans??? Fresh and Easy has the best price on hearts of palm at 1.98. Most other stores 3.99.

Isn't Fresh and Easy located next to the Bunny Ranch? I didn't think they sold food.....hmmm.

Chicken ranch or Bunny ranch?
I think they might be pretty easy maybe not so fresh.

I heard that there was a not so fresh but ohhh so easy lady at the Chicken Ranch. They nicknamed her peanut butter. Know why?

'Cause she spread so easy.....

Bob said...

Only problem with Peanut butter is that some days she was very creamy but on others mostly chunky. It was hard to predict what you were going to get.

Gawd, leave it to Bob to take it from June Cleaver to whoring at the Bunny or Chicken Ranch.
