I made it through.

So doc thinks it PMS. Noooo! I don't want to be the typical stereo type!!!AHhhhhh! I hate being a girl. She says she thinks my seratonin level is dropping and that it's pretty normal. Ahhhhhhh, crap. Anyways, she's having me try Sarafem several days before my period. I'll just take it during those times. I think I'm ok with that. I'm going to try it, at least. It is an antidepressant, but I feel that if I only use it at those times it should be ok. We'll give it a go.
As for the blood test, I so appreciate the stories and fun thoughts. Actually, I was lucky, very lucky. I think for the first time in my entire life they got it on the first try. It hurt, but it was not as agonizing as it has been. I made a big deal over nothing.

I am also having my testosterone levels checked with this blood sucking. After my bout of getting on the birth control pill before our frolicking Cancun trip to stop my period (not a pretty site being naked and bleeding), I got off it and became sexual maniac. Not complaining mind you. I brought it up with the doc and asked if I could get that back? I experienced this several years ago when I got off the" pill" for good. I almost broke my hubbies dick off and wore him out. But man it was fun! I told doc that sex life is good now, but a couple of months ago it was crazy and I want that back. She says let's check your testosterone. So that's what we're doing.

You could try Black Cohosh with Soy. It's good for "girlie" stuff. I'd find out if it has any interactions with anything you already take first though. Maybe the pharmacist could tell you. (I'd ask a pharmacist before a doc any day.)

A few years back my doc got me to try Lexapro (also an antidepressant) just for the few days before my period. It helped majorly, a night and day difference. I took it for about a year, and then I took myself off of it, and have been doing okay ever since.
I hope things work out for you just as well!

L0nestar5- Thanks, I will look into that, really. For the moment I want to give this pill a whirl.

CarynSKA- You know, I really appreciate you sharing that. I just thought it was something I could handle on my own and I just couldn't get a grip. Not that I'm glad you have been through it( believe me), but I don't feel alone. Thanks.

One more thing to add: The arteries in my left arm are not as large as those in the right. After more than a couple failed attempts on several occasions to insert the needle in the left arm one phebotomist said, "Hey, let's try the right!" Bingo. It's been an easy, in on one shot blood draw out of the right arm ever since.
