For the moment.
The body yearns, the mind yearns. Thoughts wander, soul searching. A holding back, a protection. Drive, but where. Unsure. Confidence, is it real? Relax and do something, put yourself on an edge. Shine, glow, sweat, scream, tighten, arch, look, shutter, whine, wet, bite your lip.
Sugar Skulls
This piece is called "Offerings"
This one is also, not quite finished, but almost. (2 more days)
Sugar skulls are a part of Mexico's- Day of the Dead.
These molded sugar treats are given to their deceased loved ones.
They are left on alters and graves, celebrating their lives.
I love the mexican culture and was really excited about painting this picture.
I need to get this piece and another one I will post soon, done by this coming Friday.

Lifes Little Celebration
This is "Lifes Little Celebration"
I've been working on it for awhile now, it's still in progress.
It's one of my largest pieces, measuring in at 5' x 2'
It's one of 3 pieces I'm working on for our "Sweet Tooth" show at our gallery.
It represents life and death and the happiness that goes with both.

Roll with me

So the other day I cracked my frame of my wheelchair. Thank goodness the company that makes my chair has a lifetime warranty on their frames. They are located fairly close to us, so we were able to take it there for a quick weld. They are making me a new frame to replace this one also. I've had this particular one for about 5 years and am due for a new one anyways. I'm going ahead with letting them replace my present chair, but will be ordering a brand new one soon. The one I have now is a Colours Spazz and the new chair will be a Colours Razorblade. They are great chairs and just love their way of thinking and being. If you check it out at Colours you will understand what I mean. Also they have one of the most insane tricks done in a wheelchair you've ever seen. These chairs are not cheap, but I look at it this way...I have spent everyday for the last 5 years in this chair. It has taken me so many miles and different places that I could never had gone with me hobbling along, it is so worth every dime. Actually, last couple times Muscular Dystrophy has bought me my chair. Yes, Jerry Lewis does really does help kids and adults with MD. And yes, I am a Jerry's kid. :) Wonder how many of them have done an ISM? :)

Baby, It's Cold Outside.

It's probably because it's cold outside that I'm day dreaming about places like this. I want to lay out nude in the baking sun with my hubby. We've been looking at going to a place similar to this for quite sometime. I see us probably vacationing in the beginning of summer, which seems so long from now. This Desire Resort is clothing optional and sort of a "lifestyle" hotel. It sounds appealing to us though we've never been to one, but would like to try it out. We are looking for a nice place, which is really hard to know what your getting yourself into. The Internet sites make it all beautiful looking and from experience you just don't really know what you're going to get.If anyone can give their insights on possible resorts like this one, it would be greatly appreciated.
I also want to thank you for your nice congrats on our gallery. There have been a few appearances on this blog of some of my work (mostly behind me, in my pictures). I'm so eager to get them out in the world, but not sure if this blog is the right venue. I have to be safe and I always try to think through my actions, because the Internet world can sometimes be a little crazy. I need to figure out a way to get my paintings out for you guys to see. I would love to share. I hope you understand.
