Sugar Skulls

This piece is called "Offerings"
This one is also, not quite finished, but almost. (2 more days)
Sugar skulls are a part of Mexico's- Day of the Dead.
These molded sugar treats are given to their deceased loved ones.
They are left on alters and graves, celebrating their lives.
I love the mexican culture and was really excited about painting this picture.
I need to get this piece and another one I will post soon, done by this coming Friday.

I like the mix of colours, their bright but the painting has a nice warm affectionate feeling to it.

No Sequoia, just originals. Sorry, I haven't gone that route quite yet.

I share your love of Mexican culture Laroo, especially such original oddities as the Day of the Dead. Beautiful painting. x
