For the longest time I've wanted to get a group of art friends from the college to come over and maybe have "paint day". Today the thought came to mind again and I always have excuses why I shouldn't approach this. I just think it would be cool for a select group of friends to come over and paint for a couple hours at my house maybe once a month.
I just think that because I like certain people that I would want to invite, that maybe they won't like or want to do this with those certain people? Make sense? Or if I am to old for them and this is stupid. Most of them are in their early 20's. We seem to get along fine at school, though? Art people can be pretty flakey....would it just be a disappointment?
Would it be a crazy mess and big hassle trying to get things for people to paint on or set up their shit?
I think that at least I need to try it once and see where it goes from there? Then I can know I tried and either be glad I did or chalk it up as a stupid idea.
Oh yeah, last night I entered a painting in the Kinsey Institute juried art show at the Grunwald Gallery of Art in Indiana. I have to wait until April to see if I made it in. Cross your fingers for me please.
I probably am out of my league, but what the hell. Check out the website.
