I just think that because I like certain people that I would want to invite, that maybe they won't like or want to do this with those certain people? Make sense? Or if I am to old for them and this is stupid. Most of them are in their early 20's. We seem to get along fine at school, though? Art people can be pretty flakey....would it just be a disappointment?
Would it be a crazy mess and big hassle trying to get things for people to paint on or set up their shit?
I think that at least I need to try it once and see where it goes from there? Then I can know I tried and either be glad I did or chalk it up as a stupid idea.
Oh yeah, last night I entered a painting in the Kinsey Institute juried art show at the Grunwald Gallery of Art in Indiana. I have to wait until April to see if I made it in. Cross your fingers for me please.

Which of your paintings did you enter? Good for you for trying.
Go for the painting get together deal. I think it would be fun even if only one or two show up.
I say, go for it! What's the worst that could happen? They say 'no'? So, big deal! And, besides, I highly doubt they would all say no. Even if only ONE says yes, it's worth it. But, I find it hard to believe ANYONE would say 'no' to hanging out with you!! Hell, if I was closer, I'd be draggin' my crayons over there right now!!! (You know us kdg. teachers, we love us some crayons! hahaha!)
A woman I worked with years ago helped me to finally realize that you should never hold back from asking for what you want. She said she NEVER passed up an opportunity to ask for something. She said almost always, she got a 'yes'. And, if they say no, so what? It never hurts to ask. We watched her in action that summer, and were just amazed. Truthfully, I think some people were just too caught off guard to say no, but whatever. She got what she asked for!
I'm sure you'll be finding out in April that you're in at Kinsey Institute. I have complete confidence in you, my friend!
