It makes my blood boil

I have recently been turned onto a blog via http://iteachkdg.blogspot.com/ or known as ChiTown Girl.
She's a great gal with a fun loving spirit and pretty cool blog that is warm and welcoming.  She has posted recently about these guys that are going through a really rough time.

You see, they are gay. They have adopted wonderful children and live a regular life. Probably live a more decent life than most of the rest of us have. One of the guys, even though been here for I think over 20years is set to possibly be deported because his Visa ran out. They were legally married in California some odd years back.  But the government doesn't except same sex marriage. WTF! So they are fighting with all their might to have rights just like you and me. Why must we we be so ignorant?
Check their blog out by clicking here.http://www.oursimplelives.com/

I also copied a link from their page with a video from when they were featured on CNN.
http://cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/us/2012/01/14/pkg-candiotti-gay-man-faces-deportation.cnn.html

I have gay friends. I have gay family. If you have never been around gay people you are missing out. You know why? Because they are some of the most loving caring people I have met.  It might be strange if you have never been exposed to the gay community and it might have been ingrained in you from your upbringing that there is something wrong. They are normal people. Some are more flamboyant than others, some are mellow, some are loud, some are soft, some have families, some don't, some are doctors, some are construction workers, some fight for our country, some like dogs, some like cats, some are dress designers, some are iron workers........................But they are people, just like you and me!
Just like being Asian, African American, Italian, Japanese, Australian, Mexican. They have flesh and bone and blood. They aren't aliens from another planet! They shit and pee and love and hate and are intimate just like you and me.

Who has the right to tell anybody who they are supposed to love and that they can't have rights?
Can you imagine somebody telling you you can't be with your spouse or your child or mother because the government doesn't agree that you should be together. What would that feel like? Holy shit, I can't even imagine. I'm glad I don't have to imagine.

I'm so sad living in a country that has to be so ignorant about such an issue as this.

Even if something isn't our belief we should still be able to embrace it. I don't believe in organized religion, but if you do...I think that's great and you should have that right. I don't like bullies or mean people and they have all kinds of rights. Let's protect stupid shit like child molesters, murderers, adulterers, and so on..................that's smart. But let's deport and shame and not give rights to upstanding citizens who are loving and that just happen to love the same sex, because you are uncomfortable and don't understand. That makes sense. Do you understand the ins and outs of every person? What makes them tick.....why someone has a heart condition, or why someone is bald, or likes rough sex, or they have three extra toes, or stutters, or rages with anger, or like little boys, or fantasizes about unmentionable things, or likes to eat their boogers, or likes to be peed on, or drinks obsessively, or can't look at themselves.....
I think that's the most important one....."can't look at themselves".  Gawd forbid we were born with and extra chromosome or two YY's and X and a Z.  Yeah that's our fault...... damaged goods. I'm damaged goods, my body is fucked up....I still have rights.

Oh, my sweet friend, this post made me cry!! Thank you SO much for helping to share Mark and Fred's story. It just makes me sick, so I'm not going to say anymore about it. :(

Hey, I know you read C's blog, but I don't know if you've stopped in lately. She's pretty much in the same situation. Her girlfriend has to go back to England! Bullshit!!

Maybe if enough of us keep spreading this story, something will be done.

I had to come back because I realized, to my horror, that I forgot to thank you for the awesome shout out. :)

Well, that was the most original post about us that I've read so far. Thank you so much that. It was incredible. I mean, you don't even know us and you were so kind. You have no idea how much this means to me.
I got your comment on my blog but you didn't leave an email address so I was unable to respond to you.
You are incredibly generous and I thank you so much for getting our story out there as much as you can.
Take care and I'll see you soon.

ChiTown Girl- You are a sweetie. I didn't mean to make you cry. I just am tired of the ignorance. If I can make one person understand and face their fears of another human being. I did my job. Just to make somebody think about what it would maybe be like if someone they knew or loved didn't get the same rights because they happened to not think or feel the way they did. It's my way or the highway, bullshit.
I know I read C's blog....damn....damn. Same frickin thing.
You did not have to thank me,it's an honor to give you a shout out. Anytime.

Mark- Thanks for taking your time to read the post. I know you guys have so much on your plate. Wow, I thank you and are very glad you liked it. I was afraid I was getting to pissy but I just want people to know about you and others like you.
People would rather hold close to their hearts some white trash mother snortin crack off their babies back and smokin a joint and getting beat by the babies daddy and protect and just leave that be.
Gawd forbid we would have upstanding gay parents that live a decent life and actually love each other.
This is 2012 and it's about time to get our heads out of our butts and stop being so selfish.
Still pissy, huh? sorry
