I have always been enthralled with the flea circus. As a kid I loved going to the county fair not really to see the farm animals or ride the rides. My favorite part was always the flea circus. When the fleas did the double flip off the trapeze into the tank of water, I just got the biggest tickle. They always had great names like Hercules, The Great Armando, or Madam Fifi.
To this day it brings a smile to my face whenever I see or hear about a Flea Circus.

I've just been a busy girl lately. Our Sweet Tooth show went absolutely great despite the rain. We had over 200 people and I sold one piece. The minute after that was over I went into major birthday plans for my hubby in which came to fruition yesterday. We had 50 people in for the day into our little 1920's Spanish bungalow. We have 850sqft., luckily we have a big backyard, with a nice big covered patio. The day was a sunny 60, we had a taco bar, in which we pressure cooked the meat and had all the fixings. Yum. Then topped it off with a festive white cake with raspberry filling.
Today is a kick back today........... and I'm exhausted.

Happy belated birthday to Hubby. Nothing like a taco party to honor someone you love (well, I was thinking of a "taco party" for two, girl). :)

Congrats on selling a piece of your work. Which one? And will the money gained from this transaction be sufficient for the two of you to hop on down to old Mexico to a clothing optional resort. Now that would be a real TACO PARTY! Whooo ahhh!

Yes, Congrates, It's always awsome to sell a piece of your work, no matter how much you charge, its just nice to know that some appriciates your talent enough to display it in thier home. I get a total high when I sell a Photograph (artistic ones, not portraits). As a fellow artist I'm smiling big for you!

Happy birthday to hubs and congrats on selling some work. The flea circus sounds so cool :) I'd love to see one either that or raise my own fleas and start one myself :)

Bob, The piece I sold was a 10"x10" nude. And no it will probably not be paying for that clothing optional resort. Damn!! More like a taxi ride, 3 dozen tacos, a photo on a Tiajuana donkey.

Mike, It does give me that satisfaction that someone likes my work. I get more satisfaction out of the fact that one of the other artists in our gallery told me that I shouldn't hang it in the front, because it might offend someone. I just love that the artist who told me that, was sitting the gallery when a lady came in and bought it.

Jake, I would love to be a guest at your first flea circus show.

Well, "a taxi ride, 3 dozen tacos, a photo on a Tijuana donkey" is a start. Picasso, Rembrandt, et al, had to start somewhere. Can you e-mail a photo of what you sold:

Please:

Thanks!

Belated Birthday greetings. You can find more about flea circuses at the Flea Circus Research Library, you might have to wait till later in the year when it gets hotter to collect some fleas. Or if you are going to Mexico you could pick up some painted fleas.
